Meridian Point Therapy:
Emotional Freedom Techniques & Thought Field Therapy
Meridian Point Therapy is a technique I use frequently with my clients. It is gentle, there are no risks and there are no known side affects.
This system addresses anxiety, fears, guilt, anger, rage, stress, phobias, trauma &
grief: ending long standing, overwhelming,
negative effects in the mind and body.
This system also teaches you how to keep your head when all around you are losing theirs! This system gives us the tools to control our emotional reactions
even though perhaps we can’t control what is
happening around us.
This is generally short-term, solution focused therapy.
The History:
This therapeutic technique was originally developed over twenty years ago in the U.S.
by a pioneer in Cognitive Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy,
Dr Roger Callaghan, PhD.
Dr Callaghan writes in his book ‘Tapping the Healer Within’ (2001)
that he and many of his fellow psychologists felt that modern
psychotherapy was letting their patients down.
They often discussed their feelings of frustration
that only a small percentage of their patients
ever got better. They conceded that traditional approaches
simply didn’t work for people.
However, the general consensus was that “ …a small number of success
stories is better than none at all!”
Unlike his colleagues however, Dr Callaghan continued to look for
a better way and through this journey, Thought Field Therapy
was born. (Meridian Point Therapy.)
These techniques are now being used Internationally, and have
provided many thousands of people
with relief from the pain of
emotional issues, and as Gary Craig says (the developer of the Emotional Freedom Techniques), these techniques often work
when nothing else will.
Meridian Point Therapy is gentle and works by simply stimulating specific
Chinese Acupuncture points on the head
and body with the finger tips.
Two internationally taught Meridian Point Therapy Methods are:
Thought Field Therapy and Emotional Freedom Techniques.
