Home Anger and Stress Management

Anger is a normal emotion and along with stress, when it is managed properly they are not a problem. When anger and stress are not managed effectively they can be damaging to our physical and mental health, relationships and working lives.

Stress and anger can frequently go hand in hand. When we are feeling stressed due to a stressful day for example where things have not gone as we expected, we often experience a much shorter anger fuse.  A discourteous driver who cuts in front of an already stressed person on their way home from work may be the trigger to cause a road rage incident.

Anger and stress management techniques are helpful in reducing the level of stress and anger experienced by an individual. When we learn and use simple techniques to manage and reduce daily anger and/or stress levels we will find that we have more patience when confronted by challenging situations.

In some cases, there may be underlying causes for anger such as an adult who has experienced abuse or neglect as a child. Getting professional help can be beneficial in exploring the cause of the anger and using gentle therapeutic methods such as Energy Psychotherapy to begin to heal from these emotional childhood wounds.

See Energy Psychotherapy page for more information on this therapy.
